GitHub is working on stacked diffs

Slowly, while kicking and dragging, GitHub gets Gerrit/Phabricator features.

(We've just started using the Merge Queue for Nix and Nixpkgs, which gives me similar feelings.)

This sounds like what graphite.dev had been doing. Is it?

Q: Is this akin to ensuring each commit, in a stream of work, can be merged back to main at any time?

Can someone a bit more forthcoming in arcane magic analogs explain what's happening?
