GitCruiter analyzes public GitHub data to estimate a developer’s technical level and habits. Each profile generates a detailed report with metrics like Algorithmic Thinking, Code Quality, Project Organization, Testing Practices, Documentation, and Problem Solving, plus an overall score (e.g., Senior 80/100).

You can browse developers by region, language, or framework — for example, “Python devs in Canada” or “React engineers in Eastern Europe.”

We built it to make developer evaluation more transparent — no résumés, no mystery algorithms, just interpretable metrics from real repos and commits. Would love feedback from developers on whether these evaluations feel accurate or how they could be improved.

What would improve this for most applicants would be having access to the repos where they actually work. What I have in GitHub is mostly after-hours work that is slapped together hastily as POCs. I'd never get hired and I've been in the industry longer than VCS.

Great point, that’s definitely one of the biggest limitations right now. GitCruiter only sees public repos, so it naturally misses the context of people’s real work.

I’m exploring ways to let developers optionally connect private repos or upload anonymized activity snapshots, if there’s enough community interest to make privacy and consent solid.

Totally agree this would make the results far more representative. Thanks for raising it.
