How one of the longest dinosaur trackways in the world was uncovered in the UK
bbc.co.ukLots of crap commenting about these aren't real, dinosaurs aren't real, and so on.
I for one am really impressed with that long, overhead shot of the tracks. That's nothing short of amazing, right down to the one "misstep" that doesn't fit the smooth pattern of the others. I see now why this place is a big deal.
Lots of crap about dinosaurs being real. I like that nothing in the overhead shot of tracks indicate that dinosaurs existed. This place is indeed a big deal for certain type of theories that need clay to become tangible.
FWIW, a devil's advocate view: the UK has a long history of hoaxes designed to increase tourism. With a self-interested media that gives credence to these "discoveries".
Crop circles.
Loch Ness monster.
The footprints were covered in 4-5 metres of limestone rock though, that would have been a very committed hoaxer.
When you have 2000+ years of history something called a "culture" develops along with myths and legends. Over time they become widespread.
It's a national past-time over there. They'll be unearthing "King Arthur's" sword soon.
King John - of Robin Hood fame - "discovered" King Arthur's Round Table buried in the courtyard of a monastery.
The table top still exists, a testament to political PR marketing.
Haunted bloody everything.
