The article makes the false assumption of singular dimension intelligence, such as academic intelligence. So yes, obviously, differences in academic preparation will result in differences of academic performance. There is no miracle there.

Intelligence is not single dimensional though and simultaneously convergent forms of intelligence testing are heavily prone to bias.
