What has metastasized goes beyond Trump. If Trump wasn't president tomorrow, this persecution-minded, we've got to "get all our enemies" way of running the country would be around in Vance, et. al.

Jan 6 was the turning point from GOP that sort of tolerates Trump, to GOP becoming the Jan 6 party.
