There have been a string of earthquakes around the Pacific I feel like. There was the other recent one and the same area but also rumblings at Mount Rainier and rumors of underwater volcanic activity off the US. Is this pattern something that has been seen historically (as a sign of something bigger) or is this just random noise?

Hmm, there's just been a strong earthquake in Kamchatka in late July, and now there's another one.

    Isn’t this kind of expected? It’s called an aftershock. Yes it’s a big one but it’s normal.

    Remember this is an order of magnitude smaller than the July quake.
