Strangely, the article omits the fact that PFAS is both a primary component of firefighting foam and was even once spread widely as a "crash foam" before emergency landings.

Are we really "finding" something when it was put there intentionally and many people have known it all along?

This kind of reporting seems to remove the how and why of the story, leaving only the "surprise" and upset components. Is that on purpose to avoid pointing fingers at the folks who did, and still do, use these chemicals?
