Ask HN: Safe Fundraising for Hardware Startup
Curious if any HN folk are familiar with SAFE agreements for physical, more industrial startup products. We've designed and engineered, and we have a working prototype for a very unique hoist. I am programming the control system in Ada/SPARK2014 to achieve above-standard safety certifications. We are a couple of techies, mechanical engineers, who have been in the entertainment business for decades. We had a few friends get us off the ground with a modest investment, but we now want to take it to the next level. Can anyone recommend a startup accountant/lawyer in the NY/NJ area? We had an old friend, a CPA, but he was a forensic accountant, and not really versed in startups and bringing products to market. Thanks for any advice or leads you may have!
