    There are aspects of this which go to technology: US tech companies are pushing for an end to Australian national strategies like cross-subsidies for local news, and local privacy and security obligations. So alongside the simple tariff issue, we're facing pressure to change our national I.T. strategy to "reduce barriers"

    There will be locals who want this, and locals who oppose. It's complicated.

    I get some of your vibe. There is a lot of politics on HN these days but as somebody (Bruce Schnier?) said recently, they're sorry they do so much politics but the problem is there is so much in politics which has to be talked about now, in the ICT space.

      There is a lot of politics on HN __since years ago__, or earlier, which i was not here

      That inspired me and let me know we're all political, we can not escape from politics

      the reason of why some people thought HN is become political only recently is that certain political things they cared about happened recently

      just as you said

      Silence is nothing but another form of political expression
