And this is why I always opt out of these things, because on the off chance they actually respect the thing they’re offering to respect (and generally I assume they’re collecting the data anyway) if you don’t toggle it off you know they’re not just collecting it for themselves.

    I always opt out as well, for the same reason. No company is fully trustworthy when it comes to data. I trusted Firefox more than most, though (clearly more than I should have), in that I haven't felt the need to block access to their servers in my firewall like I do with most other software. I feel the need now, though.
