Apple's plan to power Siri with ChatGPT was a predictable failure
futuresearch.ai[One of the authors here] I see another post on the front page right now [1] that covers Apple's "secure enclaves".
We didn't look much into this, but when we presented our analysis in an event last summer, an audience member made the case that Apple absolutely could fill datacenters with secure GPUs that could (provably?) run large OpenAI models without exposing any iPhone user information to OpenAI.
Curious if people still think this will work / will happen.
