The idea is for AI to interpret photos and videos and create a detailed and accurate list of exactly what was lost, so claimants can collect the full value of their insured losses.

That is actually a good idea, if you mean to automate the translation of a video into the correct format for insurance. Of course, that only works if people have had the foresight to make a video of their home. I've been meaning to do that for, oh, 30 years, but never have.

But this also isn't the ideal way to share this idea - you linked directly to a story and usurped the title. Frankly, I'd re-do this post as an Ask HN, and include a link to the story in your text to show what inspired the idea.
