From COBOL to Chaos

This is the kind of scenario we don't usually consider for disaster recovery, similar to a hostile takeover that gets, hopefully, reversed, but not before a lot of damage is done, data is exfiltrated, systems and data deleted, and so on.

I only hope the backup tapes are not incinerated.
