Benefits of an Open Network

One of the problems with this analogy is that the competition being lauded only exists because of government regulatory action. Number portability isn’t there because of an “open network”, it’s there because a regulator requires it… if we existed in a sensible timeline Twitter et al would be required to provide account portability too.
