Hack The News is a modern iOS client that combines Hacker News with AI capabilities to enhance the reading experience. Built with Swift and SwiftUI.

Key features: - AI-powered article summaries and insights - Native iOS experience - Clean, modern UI - Rich link previews - Nested comment threading - iOS widgets

The AI integration (using OpenAI) helps users: - Get quick summaries of long articles - Extract key insights and main points

I built this because I wanted to combine the intellectual depth of HN discussions with modern AI capabilities, while maintaining a clean, native iOS experience.

Looking forward to your feedback, especially on the AI integration!

Hi! I think this app is absolutely amazing! I just experienced it, and to be honest, I would really be willing to pay for it if it could offer AI-powered translation.

Thank you so much for the kind words!

AI translation is definitely on my roadmap and I'll be implementing it soon. I'll make sure to announce it here when it's ready!

Which languages would you find most useful?

I personally think that English is the first one. Although most of the content on Hacker News is in English, there is also a small portion of content in other languages, and it would be great if AI could handle that.

In addition, providing AI-powered Hacker News translations and AI summaries in corresponding languages for users using other languages would definitely be attractive, such as French, Chinese, Spanish, and so on. In my personal experience, AI is also very good at these languages, and perhaps starting with them would be a good choice :)

By the way, what is the story about default theme, why it's not follow the system by default? Just curious.
