Can Carta Cancel Securities when users offboard?

Doing some digging for more context, and found this FAQ entry [0]

> In cases where Carta will no longer serve as the SEC registered Transfer Agent for US companies, all securities from the issuing company will be marked as ‘canceled’ within your portfolio.

> This does not mean that the underlying securities themselves are canceled or terminated. A banner will be displayed in your portfolio to clarify this distinction. [...]

So it sounds less like "old agreements and contacts are voided" and more like "your legal stuff still exists but we aren't managing it for you, better figure that out amongst yourselves."
