So basically, it can still be used to harm people, but built by companies that have connections to DoD? This does nothing to prevent the misuse of robots, drones and AI to bring something worse than a nuclear disaster. This only serves to strengthen their foothold in the market of weaponised robots and drones.

Isn't using guns and bombs on robots is already illegal? Why do we need another act for this.

    I'm afraid that particular horse has already left the barn. Whether you like it or not, there's more than one country working on this, and some of them seem to have ill will towards the US.

    You may or may not like this particular arms race, but passing a US law will do little to stop it.
