Some quality of the case was detrimental to him, either in outcome or perception and in a wiser moment he got advised to stop and did.

Capriciousness will recur. He's sure to do hyperbolically stupid things again a la "pedo man" and, will suffer the recurrance of "under advisement, walk away" outcomes.

I very much hope the Tesla shareholders succeed in ousting him and some degree of rationality returns to the company. It looks like all it takes is withholding his dope stash money, so keep blocking the $45b guys, he'll walk away. And the company, being $45b better off overall, will not suffer.
