NESQUEHONING, Pa. - The company that owns a Carbon County power plant is being sued by a group of nearly 100 residents who live near the plant. They claim the plant is burning rubber tires to mine bitcoin.

In the suit filed Tuesday, opponents say the Panther Creek plant – owned by Stronghold Digital Mining, Inc. - near Nesquehoning is burning rubber tires to mine bitcoin and, in the process, polluting the air.
