This is indistinguishable from spam. It serves only to hype the author and their startups. I felt like I was reading spam inside spam. Like having ad breaks inside another ad.

Like tooting your own horn on HN, I suppose. Given the submission history, I’m surprised this account hasn’t triggered the HN anti-spam features.
