    > "What would be the actual consequence of Nakamoto declaring Bitcoin a "failed Project"?"

it would mean he lost his passwords

Who cares, it's not the real one obviously

Why? What are the evidences? Even if it's false, the messages are interesting and well aligned with what Satoshi would actually say. If it's a troll, it can't be denied that it's being well executed. They could have easily spouted nonsense instead.

A simple way for them to prove their identity is to post a wallet address ahead of time and send it any amount of bitcoin from one of their known cold wallets.

      • felipelalliOP 3 years ago

It's quite possible that he actually lost it or isn't doing it for some other reason. If it's him and he genuinely doesn't care about proving it, no one will ever know. Either way, it's intriguing.

When I was 10 years old or so I went on a random mac forum and posted that I was Steve Jobs and I had decided that Apple computers were worthless and everyone should just buy a PC. This has a similar feel to me (and I mostly use Macs today).

          • felipelalliOP 3 years ago

How did you manage to obtain Steve Jobs' real email? That seems to be the case. Whether it involved stealing the password, hijacking the domain, or something similar, the fact remains that he sent it from the real email.

Is that not what they did? We've known Satoshi's key is compromised since Craig Wright tried to claim ownership years ago. The other comment is right: move the genesis block or GTFO.

      Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

The financial benefits someone could get from stolen notoriety is enough evidence that this is a scam.

Even if he or she is a fake at least he or she is more amusing than the other more prominent fake.

I'm more surprised to see that lightning-dev is on a Linux Foundation list. Does that mean that it is an LF project, or having a mailing list at LF is available for non-LF projects aswell?

Hahah

"I feel comfortable now that humans have the ability to conduct global business and scale with fast..."

Yeah thanks for designing a system that burns the electricity of a small country. Nice try.

There are further replies by the supposed Nakamoto as well, be sure to view the whole thread! If this is Nakamoto, I never imagined he'd be so snarky!
