Consider the counter argument. Complete anonymous Internet has allowed for various dangerous groups and trolling individuals online.

There's little to no recourse to take if they destroy and cause chaos, because of being anonymous.

These days, I wonder if a South Korean style pseudo anonymous system would be better. We remain anon, but police can arrest people for criminal behaviour.

Ie death threats online aren't uncommon in social forums, but is that really good?
