Playing with ChatGTP, I just had this answer:

Can that possibly be true? The context is I asked for a poem in the style of Philip Larkin -- and got an actual Philip Larkin poem. > Can that possibly be true? Reality is, only a court can decide, and that will only possibly happen after some copyright owner sues (mostly likely sues the corporation behind ChatGTP) for copyright infringement, and the case actually goes to trial instead of being settled.
