Tumblr Announces Important Blue Internet Checkmarks
staff.tumblr.comI find this hilarious. I’m not expecting things to head this way, but recent news make it seem like we are headed back to the the “internet we all miss”.
A year ago it seems inconceivable that two of the biggest social networks (fb, twitter) would be on their way out. It seemed like such a big ship with a lot of momentum, just chugging along. Things have changed so much since then, what a strange turn of events.
In what parallel universe am I in where Tumblr is in a position to throw stones at Twitter?
I bought this, it works. cant wait for whatever the Tumblr team comes up with next

Tumblr still exists?
Automattic purchased them for $3m 3 years ago. Matt Mullenweg has a vision for it, but obviously we've not seen a huge resurgence in it yet.
They did announce the are allowing non-pornographic nude images back last week.
Kind of pathetic. Note that twitter would never parody any tumblr misfeature.
Really? Twitter seems to be doing the Tumblr style "piss off your core audience" dance pretty well right now.
It's an effective way to capitalize on Tumblr reclaiming an insignificant number of the sexual degenerates and other societal refuse flocking back to the platform to scream in rage.
Nothing of value will be lost. In the fact the world is a better place quarantining anyone on Tumblr.
