Netflix – Executives Fired, Shows Canceled, Accusations of ‘Staged Data’
ca.news.yahoo.comWhat was the real start of this? Cuties was a while back, and as disturbing as it was, Netflix didn't get a massive drop in subscriptions. What broke the camel's back?
more likely a long slow decline with several factors
off hand, a few factors I can think of are
- a few users lost here and there due to “bad decisions” (as perceived by exiting customers) - super saturated paid streaming market - more people at home = more users but != more paying customers

I think the biggest risk they face now is thinking that 100% of account sharing would be paying customers if they somehow eliminate sharing. That kind of thinking tends to lead to decisions that also push currently paying customers away AND makes new/returning customers think twice.
Just my opinion. Full disclosure: I’m in the “no longer a paying customer, not account sharing, and probably won’t be using netflix in the near future” camp.
