There's a difference between "believer in the resurrection of Jesus Christ" and "believer that the Shroud of Turin was from the resurrection of Jesus Christ". If he's going to ask for respect for the faith of "believers", I'm not sure that belief in the shroud should be given the same respect as belief in the resurrection of Jesus.
