HiFive Unmatched
phoronix.comI have high hopes for Risc-V, but in this article Rpi 400 (the pi-in-a-keyboard) is more than twice as fast on most of the cpu benchmarks, and costs about 1/7th of the price.
I am sure the comparitive situation won't stay like that, but today this is the only available Risc-V platform of its type...
Billions of dollars have been invested into ARM. It's truly amazing that RISC-V has advanced as far as it has in spite of the competition being so much more mature and developed. My expectation is that RISC-V will become significantly more competitive as the rate of investment increases. For ARM and x86, the iterative cycles between releases of technology are shorter and faster. It will be exciting to see RISC-V when it achieves that state.
