The Long and Winding Road: How Michael Jackson Bought the Beatles Catalog (1985)
latimes.comAn interesting side story: Yoko Ono had some unreleased recordings, and in 1995 gave them to the three surviving Beatles, who dubbed themselves into the recording for one last song with all four Beatles. ("Free as a Bird.")

That came to mind because it was 10 years after Jackson bought the Beatles catalog, but people were still thinking about it. Someone wrote a song-parody of "Free as a Bird", and they changed it to reference Jackson. In the original where the dramatic chorus begins..."Whatever happened to
The life that we once knew?
Can we really live without each other?"
...they'd changed it to...
"Whatever happened to
the rights to 'Love Me Do'?
We made Michael Jackson one rich mother."
